Association of Flight Attendants-CWA Endorses Joe Vogel for Congress

Today, the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA endorsed Joe Vogel in the race for Maryland's 6th Congressional District. AFA represents nearly 50,000 flight attendants across 19 airlines, and is the voice for flight attendants at their workplace, in the industry, in the media and on Capitol Hill.

"Joe Vogel doesn't just talk the talk, he walks the walk—literally," said Sara Nelson, International President of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA. "When Flight Attendants took to the picket lines to fight for fair contracts, Joe walked alongside us. He stood with us, and we are proud to stand with him. Congress needs more members who will take real action on behalf of working people. Joe will work to strengthen workers' rights on the job and to pass strong safety and security rules for the aviation industry. Joe is the best choice for Maryland's 6th district."

Joe had this to say in response.

"I am honored to have earned the endorsement of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA. My commitment to organized labor is unwavering. I firmly believe in the power of unions to fortify our economy, uplift working families, and forge a reliable pathway to the middle class.

I had the privilege of standing with flight attendants who were picketing outside of airports and will continue to champion legislation that helps workers achieve better collective bargaining rights. In the legislature, I'm focused on supporting workers on the picket line and organizing a union, and I will continue to build on my legislative work as the next member of Congress in Maryland's 6th Congressional District."
