In Maryland, 25-year-old Uruguayan immigrant Joe Vogel won his race to become the state’s first Gen Z legislator. According to his campaign website, Vogel champions LGBTQ+ rights and gun violence prevention.
“The generational challenges we face call for a new generation of leadership," Vogel said on Twitter. "I’m ready to fight for the future of my community, my state, and my country.”
